Oh I know... I wanted to go to that Ozzfest so bad but stuff came up... familiy problems and shit. And now who knows if they'll ever tour North America again... :(
YO! wats good? nice to see you joined. we're trying to get this community really started, so you can probably help out.
As far as basses, you should check into schecter and esp. neither cost all that much. im actually looking into a schecter stilleto elite 5 string. they're pretty nice.
i would say bc rich since i own one, except they suck stock. the only decent ones are the nj (now the nt series), i have an nj warlock, but u have to customize the shit out of them. i put a new bridge on, new tuners, new pickups and new electronics in it...so it doesnt suck too bad.
my favorite, would have to be rickenbackers. i'm actually saving for a 4003 right now. i got over half the money. the problem is it takes 6-9 months for a delivery from the factory since they're handmade, but its worht it. best fingerstyle bass in my opinion.
aight, have a good one.
the problem with 4001s is that theres only 1 truss rod and the necks kind of weak so your only supposed to put flatwound strings on them. the 4003 was made for roundwound strings. thats why they stopped makin 4001s. but they are still rpetty sick.
oh, and if you want to hear 2 of the SICKEST bass players ever, listen to oldskool metallica (kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets) with cliff burton or any primus/les calypool. i can send some files through AIM if u wish.
Yeah MetallicA is kickass. Not so much a fan of Master of Puppets but I love Ride the Lightning (and call me a sellout, but I really enjoy the Black Album as well... heh). But... doesn't Burton use a 5 string?
nope. only 4 strings. he used a rickenbacker in the first 2 albums and an aria and an alembic on MOP
Wierd. No idea where that 5 string idea came from.
BTW... you're kickass. Mind if I friend you?
go for it. i was actually gonna ask you to friend me.
the black album isnt bad... i just think that its a pretty weak album. i dont like any of the harder songs on it (except sad but true's decent), but the slower songs are pretty good
Yeah, and really I think half the reason I love it so much is because one of my Dad's favorite song has always been Nothing Else Matters. Kind of a sentimental thing going on there...
And Justice For All, best old school album of metallica. Though Dream Theater have some good bass parts in them.
Hmm, top notch basses:
+ Burns Bison
+ Burn Scorpion
The Burns Basses are the cheapest but they also look the best. To play on they're pretty good too.
Oh and Ibanez is the best bet ;)
and justice for all was the best GUITAR album, but the bass was so weak in it, newsted comepletely fucked up the band, but that album is good... i'd have to say the best bass albums probably kill em all between anesthesia and the four horsemen, and the best overall was probably kill em all, if not MOP.
Thanks! And actually, I'm really liking that Maverick... Hmmm...
